Join the Dunedin Film Society
There are two ways to join the Dunedin Film Society in 2026.
1. A Season membership costs $70 (Waged) or $60 (Student/Unwaged).
This gives you:
FREE entry to all 26 films of the Dunedin Film Society’s 2026 season screenings. There is no additional admission fee, so this represents a cost of about $2.70 per film for waged membership!
Generous discounts at Rialto Cinemas (from Monday to Friday) and Dunedin’s 2026 Whānau Marama New Zealand International Film Festival, and FREE entry to the 2026 screenings of all other affiliated New Zealand Film Societies.
Each Waged is entitled to ONE FREE GUEST ADMISSION to a single screening.
To purchase a Season membership:
- Complete a membership form and pay by online bank transfer; or
- Join at the door before any screening (cash only);
- Visit the OUSA office reception at the University of Otago (cash only).
2. A Three-Film sampler costs $25
This gives you:
FREE entry to any three Dunedin Film Society screenings. It can be also shared to bring two friends to one screening. The sampler does not expire and can be used over multiple years.
THE OPPORTUNITY TO UPGRADE to a Full Season Membership to be eligible for FREE entry to all of the Dunedin Film Society’s 2026 season films and to receive discounted ticket prices at the NZIFF and Rialto Cinema by paying the difference between the amount you spent on a Three Film Sampler and the price of a 2026 Full Season membership.
To purchase a Three-Film Sampler
- Complete a membership form and pay by online bank transfer; or
- Join at the door before any screening (cash only);
- Visit the OUSA office reception at the University of Otago (cash only).
Please note that Three-Film Sampler holders are not entitled to NZIFF or Rialto Cinema discounts.
