Join the Dunedin Film Society
There are two ways to join the Dunedin Film Society in 2021.
1. A Full Season membership costs $65 (Waged), $55 (Student/Unwaged) or $30 (a Junior membership, for senior secondary students with ID only, subject to censorship restrictions).
A Full Season Waged or Student/Unwaged or Junior Membership (subject to censorship restrictions) gives you:
FREE entry to all 32 of the Dunedin Film Society’s 2021 season screenings. There is no additional admission fee, so this represents a cost of less than $2.10 per film!
Plus generous discounts at Rialto Cinemas (from Monday to Friday) and Dunedin’s 2021 Whānau Marama New Zealand International Film Festival (6-22 August), and FREE entry to the 2021 screenings of all other affiliated New Zealand Film Societies.
Each Waged or Student/Unwaged member or Junior member is entitled to ONE FREE GUEST ADMISSION to a single screening. Please present your card to the person on the door to be punched.
To purchase a Full Season Waged or Student/Unwaged or Junior membership, simply fill in a membership form and join at the door before any screening (cash only).
If you would like to pay for your membership by making a direct payment into the Dunedin Film Society’s bank account (06-0942-0696013-00), please put your first name, surname and membership type as a reference.
Between screenings, you may also purchase a Dunedin Film Society membership from the staff on the reception desk in the OUSA office, located on the main campus of the University of Otago near the corner of Cumberland and Albany Streets (cash only).
2. A 3-Movie Pass costs $25
See any three Dunedin Film Society films for just $25!
Plus, 2020 3-Movie Pass holders who did not use up all of their admissions last year can use their remaining entries to see a Dunedin Film Society screening in 2021.
The 3-Movie Pass is intended to allow new members to try out the Film Society and to enable people to pay for a Full Season Waged or Student/Unwaged membership by installments.
Please note that 3-Movie Pass holders are not entitled to NZIFF or Rialto Cinemas discounts.
3-Movie Pass membership gives you:
FREE entry to ANY THREE DUNEDIN FILM SOCIETY SCREENINGS (valid for admission to Dunedin Film Society film showings only).
UPGRADE to a Full Season Membership to be eligible for FREE entry to all of the Dunedin Film Society’s 2021 season films and to receive discounted ticket prices at the NZIFF and Rialto Cinemas.
Simply pay the difference between the amount you spent on a 3-Movie Pass and the price of a 2021 Full Season Waged or Student/Unwaged membership.
To purchase a 3-Movie Pass simply fill in a membership form and join at the door before any screening.
